I came across this powerful graphic by Judith San Nicholas a designer in Barcelona.
It is making a powerful social commentary without saying a word.
Our perfect world is being ruined by the imperfection of human decision.
The light on the supermarket trolley highlighting possessions struck me first.
Do we really ‘look’ at what people have ahead of who they are?
Not only were the possessions highlighted but we couldn’t see the face, the eyes, the expression of the human being with them.
How seriously bad is that??
Please share the heck out of it as a way of making a difference and influencing change.
A simple shift in thinking, a transformation of priority from personal acquisition to caring about the guy next door.
By being outraged by child poverty and taking ACTION to change it. By using our time to have time for those who are feeling invisible, for whatever reason.
The dignity of every human life is our only wealth.
In our well developed country and in my city people are hungry and living in their cars.
At the other extreme we have our very own ‘Real Housewives of….”
Extreme wealth and extreme poverty both take dignity away.
What are we doing?????
We have a Maori proverb that is well-known to New Zealanders
“He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.”
What is the most important thing in the world? It is the people, it is the people, it is the people”
